Chutsk10 Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I added a CUC yesterday which involved 2 margarita snails some hermits and some narcissus snail , , , Right now I am looking at a 2 inch long and nearly 1/4inch wide reddish brown thing slowly crawling over the glass of the aquarium . . . it's nearly paper thin. . . I have not seen this before and my only guess is it is one of my margarita snails which had abandoned it's shell . . Is that most likley the case?

If it is a flatworm you should try to get it out. Can you get a picture of it?
Chutsk10 Posted December 15, 2007 Author Posted December 15, 2007 It's odd, i have had my live rock in my tank for 3 weeks now and I am only starting to see these odd live creatures . . .
Daemonfly Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 Many flatworms are predators, although they usually have a somewhat specific diet. It may turn out to be a problem flatworm, or also just die off due to your tank not having it's specific food source.

I did not see a flatworm in my tank until about 6 months after the live rock was put in and have not see any flatworms since then. I was not worried about it as the one I have was not considered to be a bad one. The brown ones I know are bad and will multiply to the point where all your rock will be covered with them. There is a nudibranch that eats flatworms but once it eats them all the nudibranch will starve. Best to remove them as you see them.
