Question on Chemi-Pure

I had bought some chemi-pure for my tank after hearing so many good things about the product. Unfortunately after only a couple of hours after placing it in the tank I ran into a problem that forced me to take it out and remove it from the tank. I drained as much water from it as I could and sealed it in a sandwich bag and placed it in the fridge. I'm hoping to find out if the bag is still usable. I'm still waiting for a part to arrive in order to make use of my only filter again. My tank is just being run by a powerheads currently. Thankfully its not having any trouble that way.

 

I'm planning to rinse the bag again in freshwater and then place it back into the filter when my parts arrive.

 

Can I still use the chemi-pure or did I just lose $20?

I’d rinse it now and then again just before using it. I think it should be fine.
