Detritus07
Why turn the fuge light off at all? Can I just leave it on 24 hrs? Link to comment
EtOH_is_good
yes. esp works well if you have a sump that won't leak light Link to comment
eklikewhoa
Why only if it doesn't leak light? asthetics reasons? What is the advantages of reverse lighting schedule? Link to comment
duderubble
Why only if it doesn't leak light? asthetics reasons? What is the advantages of reverse lighting schedule? Seems like I read that it prevents ph and O2 swings from photosynthesizing. The point is if you're going to have a timer on the fuge light you need to offset it so it doesn't cause these swings (i.e. worst solution would be tank and fuge on same light schedule). If you're running 24/7 with your fuge, not such a big problem. Link to comment
travisurfer
plants do benefit from some off time though. i would have it turn off for just the peak 2-3 hours of the day to give it some off time. Link to comment
svvad
the only benefit a plant gets from light off is if you're trying to have it flower. Now since that's not what we're trying to do leave it on 24 hours a day Link to comment
MJD
Really really not necessary at all. I run mine four 12 hours a day reverse photoperiod which helps stabalize pH swings. In my opinion it is a waste of electricity which equals waste of money. Running them for 12 hours a day and I still have to clean out my fuge every 2 weeks. MJD Link to comment
