carb850
I'm thinking about a mixed reef 10G (no SPS or clam) and wondering what I need for adequate flow. I will most likely be running a HOB refug. Any suggestions? Link to comment
r20crazy
i run a maxijet900 in my 10g AGA, which is 230gph, and a whisper10 converted to a HOB fuge. planning another 10g (custom) which will only have about ~250gph. many people have much less flow and do fine Link to comment
Secondgen
I have a 10 gallon reef with only an AquaClear 70 converted to a hang on fuge. It works great! I didn't add any additional powerheads because there is no need. I would reccommend the AQ 70 converted to a DIY refugium. Link to comment
MJD
A maxijet 400 or 900 will do the trick. Also a hang on the back filter would supplement nicely. MJD Link to comment
carb850
Would a timer be nessary to get random flow or would a powerhead working in a fixed position be fine? Also, I have seen some of the rotation nozzles that can go on powerheads, do they work? Link to comment
linkia lady
I have a hydroflow rotation nozzle in my 12g JBJ nanocube. It really keeps the water moving but it falls out sometimes and I have to fix it!! Link to comment
MJD
To create random flow, intersect the flow of powerheads of if you only have one, create random flow by bouncing it off the glass or rock. MJD Link to comment
