The Ultimate DanK
I am wanting to upgrade my lighting in the future from my 24" coralife lunar aqualight to something with a bit more intensity. I just wanted to know if 250w would be too much. I want to do either a 150w or a 250w MH with T5 actinics. Thanks in advanced. Link to comment
shaggydoo541
I had a 250w hqi pendant over my 18G. Corals loved it but top off was a beast. There was a ridiculous amount of eveaporation and keeping it cool involved a gigantic fan. But the corals liked it. Link to comment
adam1121
I have a 250w over my 20L and the main reason i have to top off so much is because of the big fans blowing over it. But you do need some kind of fan unless you have a chiller cause it gets VERY warm. But it does make my tank look really bright and my corals and anemones do like it. Link to comment
raleej337
So far I'm in the process of acclimating my 250W MH with 2x65W actinic pendant over a 28gal (24") and I'm happy with the light output. I suppossed to get a 150W but decided to get a higher wattage, just in case I upgrade my tank. Yes you need a fan and regular top off. I don't think 250W is not too much. Link to comment
