Time for CUC?

So the 12g tank has been running with just LR/LS for 2 weeks. Got this golden brown algae growing all over the place. (its making for lots of little air bubbles too). Ammonia is very low, but not exactly at 0 yet. Can I get a CUC in there?

 

A book I've been reading says the "brown out" should disappear on its own, but I'd like some other opinions so I don't either A.) wait too long for CUC, or B.) add them prematurely and lead them all to death.

you can never really wait too long for the CUC. I usually stick my clean up crew in one snail at a time over the course of months.
