Christopher Marks
Sounds great! I can't wait to see some photos. Did you hang the PC Prizm over the tank from the ceiling, or did you modify it so it can fit on top of the tank? Link to comment
mkriegal
I have had the prism right on top of the tank, but by the end of the day, it shot up to 86 degrees. Tomorrow I will buy hooks and hang it 2 in above the tank, or until it stays at most 82 degrees. I'll try to get some pics up soon also. Link to comment
mkriegal
Everything has been setup and is doing great. My currecnt livestock is: 1 x Red Scooter Blennie 1 x Pajama Cardinal 1 x Ultra Maxima Clam 1 x Scamosa Clam (sp?) 1 x SPS Some Mushrooms Some button polyps some GSP I put a fan inside the prism and have it directly over my tank. My digital themometer stays at 81.2, so perfect (had no studs in my ceiling). It's doing great except for lots of red slime algee, have to clean very frequently (I love magnet cleaners). Even the SPS is doing well. The only thing not doing that great are some mushrooms, think there may be too much light. I would like to add another small fish, but don't know I should (a dottyback, jawfish or small wrasse). Any sugestions, as I want something colorful or is two fish the limit. here are some pics http://www.geocities.com/iiimp3iii/images/10g.jpg http://www.geocities.com/iiimp3iii/images/p1010005.jpg http://www.geocities.com/iiimp3iii/images/p1010003.jpg Link to comment

Christopher Marks
Thank you for sharing your photos mkriegal! That is a very nice clam. I would add a false percula clown fish to your tank to finish off your fish additions. Link to comment
nanoreefboy
you will probably want to add a six line wrasse to the tank to control the parasitic snails that can come on the shells of the clams. If they are left alone the snails will kill the clam. Link to comment
snafuforyou
nanoreefboy- do all clams have these snails? also what other fish or inverts will eat them? TIA Snaf Link to comment
Christopher Marks
They commonly hitch-hike on other good snails, like astreas and turbos. If you ever have one on the side of your tank, look very close for any small white things moving on it's shell. If you got your snails from a good source though, they should be clean. Link to comment
Fant
Mk, from the pic of your tank I can see that there is a film on the water surface. I would aim a powerhead up at the water surface to increase agitation. That wil also help increase gas exchange. Link to comment
Lunchbucket
hey how is the clam going? i am very interested in gettting one. maybe squamosa or dersa thanks Lunchbucket Link to comment
NanoReefer53
You should try to take a picture from the surface with the powerhead and filters turned off. My neighbor showed me his from the top view and it was amazing. I didn't know that they had shiny color but can only be viewed from above like that. Link to comment
