I think I'm probably going to pass I'm using this retro kit. I think I may just get a all in one with lighting included. Just not really up for tweaking things too much. If anyone wants my 70w retro it's for sale.

March 23, 2019 - the last picture I took of the old aqua pod 24g tank it started leaking so I swapped everything over to a biocube 29 including the 70w sunpod.

^^^ Sup Flatlander.

I actually had a pretty knowledgable LFS owner tell me a couple of months ago...MH bulbs dont need replacement until they burn out????

He said hes checked par rating as the bulb ages...yes the par output decreases...but not enough to be a factor to change the bulb.

I have nothing to back this... Just FYI

Izzue

yes but the electrospectrum analysis goes down over time thus needing to replace lights

I am currently upgrading my tank and planning to revive my mh lights with t5ho to supplement if need be. The lights are electronic ballast running 70w de bulbs. I was using a black box led and the lenses and colors shifted and it grew algae really well. But having the chance to set up a new tank I wanted to go back to what I had the best success with, the old tried and true mh lights. The ballast are cheap electronic SunPak but have always worked flawlessly and given good color firing bulbs.
