This sucker hermit was sold to me as a blue legged, but it certainly dosent look like a blue legged now, ive been having problems with bare patches forming on my previously aiptasia infested Zoa colony, i found the hermit now tonight munching away on the rock, and i have seem him on the very colony a few nights ago.

Are there hermits that in fact do feed of zoo's, and wich species might these be? hard to get a pic for good ID but he has red antennaes, mouthparts similar to blue legs, but his legs are greenish more and vertically striped.

Sounds like you got duped into buying a crab that is not a Blue Leg , GET RID OF HIM NOW ! Before he eats whats left of your coral .

crab proven innocent, decline continued and the symptoms of the colony points towards a bacterial infection. so i performed a FW dip and removed any dead polyps, damn Aiptasia.
