New ? It already has coral?

I had to take down my 10 gallon tank and put some of the stuff into this 2.5 tank.

That's the only way I can keep a reef tank in the new apts. that I live in now.

lol, hopefully your corals don't bleach and temps don't skyrocket.

The temp. is not a problem "yet". I will not really know until this summer fingerscrossed

The corals looks to be ok with the light.

It'll be fine. look how far above the water his light is. wouldn't be any different than the top 6" of any other tank with this light over it.

The bottom of the fixture is about 11 1/2" off the rim of the tank.

you don't think it's overkill with a 150w HQI?

what is this "overkill" you speak of? i know not the meaning of this word. of course my coworker calls me the tim taylor of reef keeping... but if i had the $ to put a 150w hqi over a 2.5 you bet your a$$ i'd do it in a heartbeat :)

Well, here is my new stand

2ewmcl2.jpg

It is a Eclipes System 12 Stand.

I know I need to clean up the wiring, but don't know how to go about it right now, any suggestion and would the tank be ok by that air vent?

Looking good.

What are you using to hold that 150W over the tank?

Thanks,

Something called a reptile light fixture stand or something like that. It is used to hold the lamp over a reptile tank.

Reverse Logic

It's so ridiciously chaotic and out of control . . . I love it! Buckets to the left, a tangle of wires Homer Simpson would be proud of, a reptile stand with some junkyard dog chain . . . c'mon, good stuff.
