heed
I have a 15 gallon with 10 lbs of fiji rock and 6 lbs of marshall Island rock. After 3 days I look into the tank today after the lights came on and noticed a shrimp crawling around. He is about 1/2 inch long and is white/translucent with one front appendage which is extraordinarily large compared to the others. My first inclination was that he was a mantis shrimp but after some research I believe he is a pistol shrimp. Can anyone verify that this is a definite trait of pistols rather than mantis? If he is a pistol should I leave him be? Link to comment
FlyGTI
Without a picture it's hard to give you a definite answer, but I would say that with one arm appendage bigger than the other, you've probably got a pistol shrimp. They should be okay with others. Post a pic and I'll compare him with the one in my tank. Later. Link to comment
