FUGU!!!
I imagine the rise and fall in asterina population is due to availability of food. With a "predator" in the tank, it could be like the African savannah GSP reeds Link to comment
FUGU!!!
xenia reeds,GSP grass, gorg trees... Gat damn your avatar is trippy CG,extacy party! Link to comment
Helfrichs Chick
Has anyone ever seen these shrimp eating stars such as brittles or astrerinas? I was under the impression they would only accept linkia sp. and once in a while CCs. Personally I would just get some sexy shrimp. Har's are pretty but ususally dont last long. They actually feed on the tube feet of the stars, and rarely take any other food. Link to comment
CGNano
Mine always took CC's. Unless you have experience with them you can't go on what you've read. Link to comment
FUGU!!!
Yeah, thasts why I started this thread. To give me and other people info on harlequin shrimp.Like first hand info,I have heard really stupid info on the net so I only go here and to *other forums* for info. Link to comment
CGNano
Mine also ripped apart my asterina's fairly quickly. they don't need to be trained. Link to comment

FUGU!!!
How fast do they grow?Dose it depend how much they eat? Link to comment
CGNano
Mine grew fairly quickly. They molted about twice a month. Link to comment
FUGU!!!
What about flow?I will have high flow in my tank (probably around 1200 to 1800gph) Link to comment
CGNano
They DO NOT do well with high flow unless you have a lot of rockwork for them to hold on to. Link to comment
FUGU!!!
Okay, that COULD be a problem. But I will have a bit of rock in there.Like 55lbs. What if the asterina stars are on the glass? I will also have a SCWD current system hooked up to the plumbing. Link to comment
CGNano
They should do fine. make sure you put them near the biggest stack of rock when you put them in your tank. Link to comment
FUGU!!!
no prob,I will stick them in a cave Link to comment
