worms?

not too sure how to discribe it. it look like a centerpied. It came with the liverock. Can't get a picture of the worm cause it retreat back to it's hole so fast! i'll post the pic if i got the shot.

Based on that inadequate description, it sounds like a bristleworm.

 

They are good for detritus control, so I woulnd't attempt a removal.

 

Of course, it could be something else, but we won't know without more info.

 

If you really want to be creeped out, take a dim flashlight (or a red light) and peek into your tank at night after it has been dark for an hour or so.

Thought bristles were generally considered a pain.?

Perhaps you are thinking fireworms?

 

The only time I have heard of bristleworms being a pain is when they are 12" or longer and get hungry enough to eat corals or zoas.

i was told for years to leave my rock out of water until the bristle worms venture out, and then pick them off with tweezers.

 

i was also told they were bad, but this isnt the case. they may be unsightly at times, but thats about it. :)
