Tbone675
After not having a tank for about 3 years or so, I have decided to fire one up again. I am in a apartment and decided to go with a easy AIO. I found a used Solana and stand on craigslist and i had a bunch of stuff from my old reef so it didnt take much. I also got a Nova Extreme Pro off Ebay. I added 2 stunner strips and a rapid led moonlight kit to the nova. Tbone675
(moonlights on) I used rock and sand from my old tank and got some sand from a local guy to seed it. i let it cycle for about 5 weeks and added my first fish. a fire fish. then a orange occ clown and a black occ clown. just added a yashia goby and a candy pistol shrimp. Of course in between the fish i added frags. i took a few pics of some of the stuff. pic of the shrimp and goby. Safety tip: put top glass in a safe place when working on tank. Laying it flat on the ground can be hard to see and it is not meant to hold a 200lb person. found a used top from a local guy...small chip in it but not bad. i might have a spare cut just to be safe... I got a tunze 9002 with stevie cup installed and also put a stevie media basket with chemipure and purigen in it. below the skimmer i put a clump of chaeto with a jbj fuge light to grow it. Tbone675
got the blenny, but the next day my purple fire fish jumped. so i replaced with a McCoskers wrasse. my solana has the glass top so the fire fish had to aim for the corner where the feeding hole is (smaller than a quarter) what are the chances. i think he jumped because i was playing with the lights and the moon lights did not some on so it was 100% dark that night. also just picked up a used MP10es. its nice i like it. 235$ nice...idk my nano koralias were pretty good... HVani
I lost my purple firefish and yasha goby through the same hole in the front I ended up making a screen lid to make sure no one else jumped. Link to comment
Tbone675
got some updated pics. my rbta has gotten huge. the rock has tuned a green color but coraline has started to take hold so it shouldn't long. i also traded my two clowns to a local breeder for a set of cquest onyx clowns. they are too small yet for my reef, so ill pick them up in a few weeks. my yahsia and pistol have found a interesting place to come out today. Tbone675
had another fish jump today. my mccosker's flasher wrasse jumped. luckily i was right there to see it. i happened to look up just in time to see him shoot up and squeeze out the small gap between the top and the front pane. i scooped him up off the carpet and tossed him back in. he is fine, but from now on i have to keep the top slid real close to the front pane. Tbone675
Finally! My clowns started hosting my rbta! Well at least one is, I'm sure the other one will soon. I'll try to get a vid. This is the first time any clown I have owned hosted anything. It's really cool. Also got 7 new sps frags. Link to comment

Boomsnapp
Good on you for getting a Barnacle Blenny. I feel like they are some of the most underrated fish in this hobby. They are so entertaining especially during feeding time. And you might seriously want to make a screen top for your tank. It sounds like your having a bit of a problem with jumping fish. PLus a screen top helps with airflow to keep temps down. Link to comment
Tbone675
I have a glass top it was just bad luck they hit the 1/4in gap and made it out. I am going to look into mesh for the summer tho. Link to comment
Paigee
I like your tank! It's a shame that all those fish were (un)lucky enough to find that small hole! Link to comment
Tbone675
I like your tank! It's a shame that all those fish were (un)lucky enough to find that small hole! Yeah, only the one died and it was my fault for leaving the tank completely dark and freaking him out. Link to comment
Tbone675
the onyx clowns are starting to gain color. one has all 3 bars and a lot of black. the other one has a small mark where his bar might be starting. Link to comment

Tbone675
did a little playing with the tank. added a second fuge with a second jbj nano fuge light. so i have a fuge below my tunze skimmer in the first chamber, and now i have a second above the pump in the third chamber. i had to divert the flow in the third chamber because it came out the bottom in that chamber and went directly to the pump. so i made a light diffuser/acrylic plate to channel the water up into the chaeto then back down to the pump. i covered the light diffuser with a cut up media bag to keep the chaeto out of the pump. looks good, better yet works good. as a secondary bonus it makes the micro bubbles go up away from the pump. edit: o also ordered a radion and hanging kit. so i will have a NEP 20" with 3 stunner strips for sale in a few weeks. Tbone675
first full day with the radion on. set it to 45% to start. i took some pics to record if the sps colors gets better over time and to document growth. i was not sold on the leds but as i look at it i like it more and more. fts Link to comment
