Euphyllia
Why is the tank terrible? And the fish wouldn't eat? What were you feeding them? The saltwater tank I mean... The 29g is like dying... The pygmy sunfish refused to eat. I tried frozen blood worms (that's what the eBay ad said they were eating) and I tried live brine... Link to comment
ScubaEthan
Man, apparently I miss all the fun! No idea what's going on but that's typical for me. So ummmm, yeah.... *derp* I did too. Derpaderp I've been super busy and missed the last month of your thread, but I saw tonight's photo dump. Looks great! My peppermint shrimp is named Pierre too and it totally should've been Chester! I'm actually thinking about giving it to someone else cause it really does molest everryyything. Keep up the good work! Link to comment
FlCandy
I'm constantly trimming my kenya tree. That sucker can really irritate other corals!!!!!! Tis the world of a contained ecosystem! Annoying the critters get TOO big. The saltwater tank I mean... The 29g is like dying... The pygmy sunfish refused to eat. I tried frozen blood worms (that's what the eBay ad said they were eating) and I tried live brine... Yeah I gotcha there. Why not do a 100% WC and see what happens? I mean match params and whatnot but change a whole 100% over like 24 hours? May bring life back into it. Damn finicky Florida fish! IDK, should have tried some flakes for kicks. Wouldn't have hurt and everything I have ever caught in the lakes and rivers etc chowed flake foods. Get some fly larvae or something or let the mosquitoes lay eggs in the containers it will provide the larvae for live food. That's probably what they eat in the wild. Just cover it so the bugs don't get out and take over your greenhouse. OHHHH or get some mosquito netting or screen and cover it tight. That'd be better for gas exchange! And you can pour Topoff water through it, and open a corner to drop food in. But with the bugs you would have self sustaining food. Link to comment
FlCandy
A progression of FTS from the beginning to now. FlCandy
This tank certainly has come a long way. Just think what it'll look like a year from now I know I was looking at the pics and saying OMG! I was ready to tear it down at one point but I was way to hard headed! Glad I didn't! Stand should be done in the next 1-2 weeks, then the SUMP will be baffled and installed. I am going to do a Fuge in the center and a 3-4" sand bed in there. I may get a few damsels for it as well as I like them and want a Yellowtail again. Their so sweet! Link to comment

surgicalsense
Love the balance with placement of everything. The left end where your xenia is, is going to fill in nicely. Lots of room for the xenia to flurish and grow like a weed. I just figures out I have tiny xenia buds all over the LR on the side it moved from. I thought they were cloves, not that I could tell the difference at first. Link to comment

One is so stretched it looks like a rubberband! Silly corals! Link to comment

banshee
Nothing new today?! I need a camera worth taking pictures with! Maybe once my LED's are in my pictures will come out better? What kind of lighting do you have Candy? Link to comment
FlCandy
I have T5HO. All ATI bulbs. The lighting is on page 1 I think? Yeah it's an index for this long thread! Okay I have been thinking it over and we are going to just put everything into the 40B when the stand is done, and when there is another 1$ per gallon sale at PetCo I will get another 40B for the SUMP. That will double my volume and add the fuge, of I will have to check around and see if anyone has one for a SUMP. Either way when the stand is done we are going from the bowfront to a 40B. Will make for better pics! And an easier move! I may miss a daily update...... The vid says 156 minutes and I can't upload pics until I update flash.... but I have to shut down the browser which means no uploading of the vid. SO may be a day late ..... I apologize. andrewguilfoy
You don't need to apologize! your thread is media overload! I think you're the only person I see that updates their FTS almost every week. And the progression looks awesome. And once you get all of that live stock in that deep dimension you'll never go back! LOL thanks! I know I was looking at it and I love the depth! I can;t wait to have more sandbed for everyone. Just worried about the Yasha and pistol! They were terrors to catch at the LFS so idk! May have to get some fish traps! Or just fill it with new water and move everything piece by piece and then move the fish after there is no rocks for them to hide in! Link to comment
