[Resun dms 500] my new aquarium

hi. this is my first post in this forum, i'm from colombia, six months ago since my aquarium begins

 

here come the tank specs

 

 

Display: Resun DMS 500 24g

Lighting: 36W x 1pc, blue 36W x 1pc, white b. 8pcs LED, blue

Skimmer: Aquatic Life Internal Mini Skimmer 115 Protein Skimmer

Retur pump: resun 1200p

Flow: Koralia 1, and a Resun mini(260l/h)

 

Filtration:

 

Chamber 1: Bio-pellets Reactor

Chamber 2: chemi pure elite and seachem purigen

Chamber 3: skimmer

Chamber 4: Return pump & heater

 

 

corals:

 

green and orange Zoanthus spp

some pink and orange Ricordea florida

Frogspawn

pink lobophyllia

bubble coral

green candy cane

pulsating xenia

red mushrooms

cinamon palys

green implosion palys

Clove Polyp

little frag of green star polyps

toadstool leather

green scolymia

pink open brain

pink and green montipora capricornis

montipora digitata

 

 

fishes:

Amphiprion ocellaris

yellow tail damsel

flame hawk fish

 

Invertebrates:

fire shrimp

blue leg hermit crabs

crocea clam

some turbosnails and limpets

 

 

 

 

i clean the glass every other day , about 15% water change once a week, feed mi two fishes with spectrum flakes and pellets, CYCLOP-EEZE and one a week some frozen crill. Clean the skimmer cup weekly.

 

 

i have some problems with phosphates, a nitrates, i test water chemistry every two weeks but i cant find a way to lower them to 0, always show me a low range of 2.5 NO3 and 0.1 or 0.2 of PO 4

 

my PH levels are about 7.8 or 7.7

 

 

i have a derasa clam a few months ago, in the beginning it was colorful, has a blue border and some yellow stripes now its to brown and its attached to a rock i dont know why it turn to that ugly colors it's normal?

What is your water source? Do you use filtered water? What salt mix do you use?

 

I can't really help you on the clam, but maybe someone will chime in. I would suspect that something has possibly happened to the density or diversity of zooxanthellae within the tissues.

thanks for your aswer, I use Reef Crystals Salt, change the water once a week, but do not use RO-ID

yeah, i'll get a ecoxotic LED panel the next month, somebody can give me a review of this kind of leds, it really works for clams and SPS?

wow how big is that yuma ric? and what color is it? looks kinda pinkish from the pics but I'm not quite sure, may I ask how much you get those for? :D
