Sal's Solana Cardiff

Current FTS as of July 2010

DSC00701.jpg?t=1278598612

I have had this Solana for about 6-7 months now. It was supposed to be the wife's tank to hold her BW clowns and few frags. But due o traveling, economy, downsizing, etc. I ended up selling my 220 and 65 so this one became the main tank out of the sudden.

I wanted to increase water volume, have a proper sump, increase skimming, try T5's (always MH until now) and have a project to work with in general so.

Cardiff (original set up) Running 20K 150 MH + 2xT5

Was not really pleased with water movement, aquascaping, etc

Very nice.

Thanks man,

Totally overkill so when I upgrade I can reuse most of the equipment. There is something about DIY that I found very rewarding.

:happydance:

I miss the Metal Halide but I think with LED supplements the T5 will do really good, plus I LOVE the temperatures right now. Let's see what the corals do on the next months.

Update time :happydance:

T5 switch has been positive, I'm experiencing great growth. I need to supplement the NEP with either more intense actinic bulbs or LED add on to get the effect I'm looking for. Some of the corals have color morphed to a lighted shade (not bleaching).

enchinata, great growth

You sure do have a lot of plumbing. Nice setup. I like that you keep in mind the fact that you will want to upgrade in the future ;)
