StevieT
Why not put the temp probe in the rear chamber? Link to comment
mg0465a
i wasnt sure if that would give an accurate reading... because if the heater goes on wouldnt the water back there be warmer than inside the tank??? your the pro tho stevie, if you think i'm ok then i'll put it in the back chamber what about my ph probe also... should i put that in the back as well? by the way stevie, i just got your mods for the tunze... just put it in and have it running... its amazing! and sooo quite now... i love it.. thanks bro! imcosmokramer
you can put your pH/temp probes in the first chamber (just snake them in). Link to comment
mg0465a
you can put your pH/temp probes in the first chamber (just snake them in). i'm not sure if the ph will fit in the first chamber (i added stevie's media rack which is in the 1st chamber..) but i can prob squeeze the thermometer in there Link to comment
StevieT
I have my temp probe next to/under the Tunze. As long as it isn't in the same area/next to the heater you will have an accurate reading. Water flow is moving back there so it isn't stagnant water. I have a reefkeeper and have my ph probe in the filtration pump chamber. There was enough room to slide it between the back of the pumps. inTank you, it makes your tank so much better, wouldn't sell it (make it) if it didn't Link to comment
ponokareefer
I'm curious what you use for cleaning the glass to keep it that clean? I'm getting really tired of usual the manual brush. Link to comment

mg0465a
well I finally took your advice and put the ph probe and thermometer probe in the rear chambers... it looks so much better!!! i also got my first pair of fish-- i got 2 ocellaris clowns!! so far so good.. its been 24hours and both are eating up a storm and seem to be very playful. they were tankmates at lfs, so i think theyve already determined which is the male/female....... also, for those who have followed my status and updates, i captured 2 more gorilla crab hitchhikers today-- which bring my total up to 6 captured gorilla hitchhiker crabs....... and i fear there are still more Link to comment
StevieT
That's a lot of hitchhikers! Link to comment

Next time check and scrub that rock good oh yeah, next time i get any rock, or any frags, i'm going to be sure to dunk it in a high salinity mix first... i dont want to go thru this again.. but the pistol shrimp is actually pretty cool, hasnt been noisy... but the gorilla crabs are a hugeeee pain in the ass Link to comment
mg0465a
Its been 6 months and I'm still trying to slowly add things but this is what I have so far---- towards the right of the tank (seen in the picture to the left) i have some ricordeas on a frag... the right is a picture of the area that the ric is currently at... i'm trying to locate a better spot for it that might help the rics start spreading.. ive had it for like 2 or 3 months and it hasnt spread it at.... any suggestions? along with suggesting where i should move the rics-- does anyone have any other suggestions for corals that i should get and where i should place them in here??? keep in mind that because im newer and even tho i always do weekly water changes, i would like a coral that isnt very difficult to keep... rahorman
I like that cave in the pic on the right. I also like how you have plenty of sand space for corals. I don't have nearly as much sand space as you in my tank with my aquascape yet I have approx. as much rock as you. Link to comment
