rrcg50 Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 where to start. just purchased a used bc14. mods from previous owner are removed first and 2nd chamber floors. widened first chamber opening to second chamber sealed off bottom of first chamber so i am 100 percent surface skimming fuge light with paint scraped off back of tank upgraded pump. right now a maxi 1200) thinking of changing to a 900 about 15 to 20 pounds of rock from an established tank 10 pounds of sand(maybe less) lighting is a nano tunner 3.24 upgrade and finally silent x fans has now been up and running for a few weeks progression pictures will follow tomorrow day 1 with water and sealedoff bottom grate Link to comment
rrcg50 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Share Posted June 26, 2009 this will be a mostly orange colored coral tank. mainly rics, yumas, and lps so far i have a orange tongue coral, orange rainbow acan, about 10 different orange rics, 1 orange yuma, and a red/orange with yellow eyed chalice. i have all these coral from current other tanks that i am running so will just be moved to there new home. plainrt Posted June 26, 2009 Share Posted June 26, 2009 looks good.1200 make too much heat and 900 is only little less flow but alot less heat.I would do a 900 and a koralia nano or 1.I was happy with my 900 and k nano in my 14 Link to comment

rrcg50 Posted August 8, 2009 Author Share Posted August 8, 2009 am dealing with a little cyano and not sure why. tds read 0 on my rodi water i hardly feed the tank because up until yesterday i only has 1 fish in it. we will see what happens hope you enjoy the pics. had to move the rock work to get a neon goby out because my other one was kicking his butt so things changed around a little. I have a few yumas that are almost just like yours and are among my favorite corals in my tank. I think my big one is my longest lived coral too. I do like your clowns in there too. Was it planned to pick fish that are normally orange, but selectively bred for white? Keep up the good work! Link to comment
rrcg50 Posted August 11, 2009 Author Share Posted August 11, 2009 i am a clown nut i have a pair of snocassos picassos black and white occs reg occs snowflakes wild onyx platinum picassos i am also saving up for a pair of c quest onyx and wyoming whites my onyx and occs are breeding and i have fun with that. funny thing is i would break down my reef and just have clowns. Want more flo but trying to keep the heat down. The 3.24 adds a lot of heat even with upgraded fans so will be working on a mod to help that Also just purchased a steve t media basket and fish saver will work on that one this weekend Link to comment
