got2envy
I was a busy bee yesterday and this morning.. I filled the tank with water 2 days ago, I use natural sea water in my tanks, I like that it has nutrients that mixing your own water doesn't. I used a old 50w heater to get the temps up, I keep my house at 74 lol got it to 78I shouldn't see too much of a cycle This morning I added the fully cured 11-15 lbs of L/R not sure what the exact weight is because I pulled alot of smaller pieces from my other tanks..I know I purchased a few pounds the other day, I shouldn't see a cycle except for the diatoms on the sand, since it was dry..I did add a handful of live sand from my 75g My little HOB is kicking booty..I must say I am impressed with the surface skimmer I was going to start off with a MJ 400 or 900..but it looks sooooo big in there so I had a 50 Rio mini from a CPR in-tank refugium that i never used I got some hitchikers in the process of yanking rock from my other systems, 2 blue legged hermits, 5 polys of red skirt zoas and some asterina stars..and I put a nice little 4" green tipped colt coral that I had in my 40L This is a 3 sided tank for my viewing pleasure..it is in my bedroom next to my bed Now for the pics..tank is still a little cloudy but I want to track the progress from the start..will post clearer pics I promise Left side Right side front view top view of eggcrate, light, HOB filter my hitchhikers and my green tipped colt coral fragand hermit crab lol Let me know what ya guys and gals think so far Maria Link to comment
