tinyreef
How does the tide system work...Im confused the moon's gravitatio... it looks like a carlson surge but with a durso drain and a partridge in a pear tree. it fills up the overhead fuge/sump and after critical level is reached, <flush> back to display, right tig? i agree with six, very slick workmanship. i like the black theme too. it's like modern art, reef-style. have you accounted for splash from the return surge? i think you're gonnnnna need a coverrrr. Tigahboy
oh, and I finished the return line. too much head loss using pvc, so I used clear vinyl tubing. the enormous amount of splash was definitely an issue, so to account for it, I simply reduced the magnitude of the "flush"/surge by decreasing the drain line to 1/2" instead of the original 3/4" i used for my prototype. so in the end, I had to sacrifice some of the cool large "waves" in order to keep the pico running in a practical manner. I'll post pics of the surge flow later today. Link to comment

yoshiod9
looking great, dennis! i couldn't tell if you kept an emergency overflow in the design or not...but if not...are you nuts? anyway, i was talking to my parents about finding a condo to rent when my mom decided to just shoot out a comment that she might buy one for me to rent from her (obviously for much cheaper and...the most important part...then i wouldn't have to worry about hiding my tanks from the people that own my apt. complex!). can you say 'massive upgrade'? how about Carlson Surge Device? i can. keep up the good work, man!
