Id go with the strawberry!

And what are you going to do about the wrasse?!?

I'm leaning towards the strawberry as well. We'll see!

I really want the wrasse but I'm going to hold off and just hope they are still in stock in 2-3 weeks, which I doubt. I really want to get the quarantine tank back in good shape again before committing to the fish. I'm so impatient though :(

I'd go with the one that would stand out most in your tank... looks like the strawberry shortcake might add a new color? They're both beautiful though... why not both? :P

I would love to have both! I'm just running out of room for SPS in my tank. I figured I'd get one last piece and just get one that's really special. I am leaning toward the strawberry shortcake...

I vote strawberry!

Leaning that way... they're both so gorgeous though.

Oh...that's a tough choice!!!!! They are both gorgeous!!!!!

Funny that you got the in stock notice on the wrasse. I'm still a good ways out from being able to get one.

Yeah I can't decide! I think the strawberry has a slight edge. I think it's a win win either way though :P

Why do you say it will be a while before you get one btw?

The SS would have the edge for me too :)

Well, I'm still in the middle of cycling the tank. I think I have another 2 weeks at least. The pH won't drop in that tank!!!!! I'm pretty sure I'm through the main cycling I just have to get all other parameters in check. I'm testing again today to see how the Alk, Ca, Mg. and pH are. Once I get those in line, I'll start adding the macro algae. Then the coral, and then the fish. I don't see fish going in for another month at least. I'm thinking more like 2 months.

Oh I didn't read that you had started with all new rock and sand!

Yep. I didn't really have a choice. The existing rock and sand is contaminated with bryopsis. I thought I'd play it safe and just start completely fresh.

Have you made your decision on which SPS to add?

Ugh! Pink-Streaked Wrasse pair listed on the Diver's Den... why couldn't it have been a single? -_-

Probably the strawberry shortcake since it has a color combo I don't have in my tank. I love the Oregon Tort but I already have a nice blue millepora in the tank. It might be a while before I buy it though.

BRS Reef Saver rock should be here Wednesday.

CUC and a couple of macros from Reefcleaners should be here Friday.

Since the newly converted tank is already seeded and will be full of macros shortly, there may be a Pink-Streaked Wrasse on its way in the near future. :ninja:

Well I was supposed to have a pink-streaked wrasse on the way by now but I just got an email from Liveaquaria saying my shipment has been delayed, citing no specific reason. I called them up and they couldn't give me any specific information over the phone either. I hope it's only a minor delay. -_-

make it an all sps tank:)

It's tough enough to dose with the SPS I already have in the tank lol... besides, I love LPS too much. I could go without soft corals but zoanthids and palys fill out empty spaces nicely. :)

I had that happen before. They must have thought they had one ready to go but didn't or it died. Hopefully it will just be a short delay. I think they quarantine new arrivals for a couple of weeks.

I can't wait until all three of us have our wrasses :)

I got so excited today because I opened up hotmail and I had a new email, until I open my inbox and it was just from Artizia telling me about their private sale -_- Ugh.

I think it'll be a while before I can join the PSW club :(

Probably one of my favorite pieces in the tank right now simply because it has come so far in 2 months. Just a reminder: these pictures are iPhone quality... -_-

When I first got it (notice the tiniest patch of pink):

Now (all pink & even encrusting heavily onto the rock):

6/23/12 update:

This thread needs some more pictures so I'll see what I can do about that in the next few days. I've moved some corals around (again) so things look a bit different than they did in my last FTS. Also, still no word on the Pink-Streaked Wrasse. I've tried to contact Liveaquaria multiple times to see if I could get some more specific information as to why the shipment was delayed, but I still haven't found anything out. All I know is, they're still in stock on the website (4-5 days after this whole debacle started) so there must be some other reason for it. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that it ships out soon... This tank needs a new fish!

Other than that, things are coming along nicely. I'm starting to see more and more patches of coralline algae, the corals are growing well (there are at least 7-8 babies growing on every acan frag), and the fish look healthy and happy as they usually do. The shrimp have settled in nicely. Every time my hand is in the tank they come to "clean" it. I also noticed one of the shrimp is carrying eggs... I may have gotten lucky with a m/f pair.

Side update: My girlfriend's "new" tank is doing well. CUC is in there chugging away. The rock I got from BRS is amazing--I wish I had known about dry rock for the 20g. Right now there are a couple zoanthids/palys, a mushroom, GSP, hammer coral, red gracilaria, green ulva, and chaeto in there. I'll see if I can get her to start her own thread on it.

Some more pictures!

New zoanthid garden (well part of it):

Decent shot of the radioactive zoanthids since they're at a better angle now

New LPS area #1

Maze brain! I love these corals. I can't wait until it doesn't look like a frag anymore.

IMG_0593.jpg

More birdsnest growth. It would have an extra inch on the left if I wouldn't have accidently fragged it a couple weeks ago.

IMG_0596.jpg

LPS area #2

IMG_0600.jpg

Orange acans in their new spot (they're so photogenic aren't they?)

IMG_0597.jpg

Ticked off acans (I just did a water change). The reason why I am posting this picture is so you can see all the babies. There are just as many on the other side. It's the same with all my other acan frags. They'll be nice mini colonies here in a month or two!

IMG_0599.jpg

I'm a little disappointed with this chalice so far. If I can get my SPS to color up, the chalice should be cake. I've had it for a few months, and it's grown a new eye since then, but it just won't color up. I've tried moving it around a couple times... we'll see... any advice would be appreciated.

For reference, this is what the above chalice should look like...

I hope your gf starts a thread for her tank too!!!!

Thanks

I've been trying to get her to start one! I'm sure she will eventually.

Everything is looking good! I haven't been on NR in a while so I searched out your thread expecting to see thousands of pics of your new pink streaked wrasse... Sorry to hear that you still haven't heard anything :(

Your acans are sure growing quickly!

I still haven't heard anything about the wrasse, and it's now listed as out of stock on the website. I don't think it's going to happen this time. :(

Aww man! I can't believe they haven't gotten back to you. I always heard LA had pretty stand up customer service... Have they refunded you yet?? Or you aren't charged till it ships?

They haven't charged me yet. They won't until one ships, but like I said, I don't think that's going to happen. They keep orders open for 2 weeks before cancelling them. Then I'll have to try again next time they're in stock. Ohh well.

In another news, the curse of the salmon continues for me. I am a really avid fisherman, and I've been trying to catch a salmon for 8 years now with no luck. Today I had a great chance out on the Mendocino coast. My buddy invited me out on his boat. He caught one and lost one. I didn't catch one and lost 4. FOUR. Ugh. It was still a beautiful day though, and my friend felt so bad for us (my girlfriend was with us) that he gave us the salmon he caught. It wasn't a total loss. :)
