I have the same wrasse in my 90, it is a hermit sniper. They don't even make it to the sand, starting to wonder if that is where my snails ended up as well. You are right though, beautiful fish.

jbb_00 - It's odd how two fish of the same species can be so different. I have a high population of hermits and he's in different to them.

Mannn Love your tank, and yet this is only the beginning, I can foretell that there is a whole lot of high-end corals to come!!

IIX - Thanks for the view and comment. I wish I had more coral in the tank but it comes down to money. I try to add a frag once a month or so. I'm definitely being picky on what goes in at this point. With this being my first time with SPS, I'm also trying to allow room for growth.

definitely following this one!

jcastle - Thanks for following along.

Ahh. My eyes! My eyess!!

Aquanist - Thanks so much!

Truly AMAZING! Thank you for documenting your build and being an inspiration to us all. You've raised the bar...

SynRG - Very nice comments, thanks so much.

I have a YWG/pistol pair ... them. But, it drives me nuts with the constant harassment of the brain coral. Moving/rotating it, never in the same place.

Wow...

In all honesty...this is probably in the Top 5 of the cleanest tanks I've ever seen!

I normally don't enjoy reading journals...but this was a treat. The amount of thought and work that went into building this is such a sight to see.

I had a tank just like this (mini version) that I recently parted out :-(. It was a 45 gallon custom Reef Savvy tank...that I tried to build just like yours...but due to a move I didn't have ample space for it.

I will definitely follow this thread. This is a beautiful tank and the process of building it was beyond what many post here (myself included).

I plan on ordering another tank (ideally 100-120 gallons) and this will definitely be how I would aim to set it up!

Beautiful tank!

please hold while i drool for the next ten minutes (insert elevator music here)

ok im good now, DAMN the level of OCD that went into this tank is awe inspiring, you realize i plan on stealing just about every idea from this tank you have, including the roll out sump (brilliant) and the ultra clean control panel, also the light wiring in the wall, very clean, just subscribed.

     im just captivated

surgicalsense - It really does seem to be luck of the draw with these guys in terms of how much they decide to move things around. About once a month the shrimp goes on a rampage and bulldozes sand like crazy.

pimp4cheddar - Thanks, thanks and thanks! Comments like this make the extra work to document all worth it. It's easy to get lazy on the documentation but I've learned so much from these forums because of people talking the time to document their work. The way I look at it, if one person is able to learn from it than it makes it worth it for me.

Fantastic Job!!

I love the tank and I love the extreme documentation! FTS soon? :D

animalmaster6 - Thanks for the compliment on the tank and documentation. There are a few FTS in the journal, just back a page or two. Here is a new one that has not been posted yet. I took this trying to get a good look at the starphire glass.

Fearlessmoto - Thanks for your kind words. Please feel free to copy anything you want from the thread. Just be sure to give me some credit in your journal. You know what they say, copying is the best form of flattery.

well you're doing a great job!!

IIX - Thanks so much. Just made my monthly trip to my LFS and picked up two new frags. One was "Strawberry Shortcake" and the other is "Blue Berry". Pictures to follow after they've had a chance to get comfortable in their new home.

Viewpoints - 1/19/12 Update

The tank journal just rolled over to page 5 which is lacking photos. Since I had some additional pictures that I took the other day, I thought i would add them.

Clown.jpg

If you've seen one clown fish, you've seen them all. I realize that a photo of one of my clown fish is not that exciting but I do really love the way this photo came out. The clown really pops against the black background and you can see just the hint of a Monti Cap in the back. My pair of clowns were purchased for my Nano just over 3 years ago. They really like their new home!

LeMark2.jpg

There seemed to be a few people interested in the LeMark Angels from my last photo posting. If anyone is looking for a great fish, consider these guys. To my knowledge they are the only true reef safe angel fish.

Abstract-1.jpg

I love the look of the beveled starphire glass. I was attempting to photograph the glass edges and ended up with this photo. I thought it was a neat angle of the tank and you can see the beveled glass pretty well.

Nice, how much do those lemark angels usually go for? what does it eat?

I wanna spooge all over your setup B)

Take that as a compliment. I'm looking into the cad lights 70G!

Mitch619 - Wow! That is one kind of compliment. Thanks for checking out the tank and taking the time to post. Once you get your CadLights give me a PM so I can check it out.

Wow man you really outdid yourself....Truly awesome.

Rehype - Thanks so much, you too have a beautiful setup.

IIX - The LeMarks are not very expensive. I paid $70 for a trio so right at $20 a fish. They eat anything and everything. Mostly small meaty foods like cyclopeeze, oyster eggs, prawn eggs, etc. I feed some Nori sheets in a clip every other day and they go wild on that as well.

Thanks again and best of luck when you do get based and are able to setup your tank.

We sure missed you while you were gone!... but what a way to come back. This tank is one of the most organized and meticulously planned out tanks i have seen in a long time!

stunning is a understatement!

so glad to have you back brad!

Ezsharkman - Thanks and it's good to be back here on Nano-Reef. Thanks for your views and comments on the tank.

This will be TOTM in no time.

zacowacko - While I appreciate that, I think it will be sometime before this tank could be worthy of TOTM. I need lots more corals plus some time to let it grown in. Plus, I'm not so sure the powers to be here at NR.com would allow a 100+ gallon tank to be the TOTM, kind of goes against the Nano-Reef. Thanks all the same, I appreciate the vote of confidence.

Loving the tank, still looking for an email of the spreadsheet.

twan - Sorry for the delay, check your email, I just sent it over to you. Thanks for the view and comments.

+1 for TOTM!

Fearlessmoto - Thank you so much for your vote of confidence, I can only hope that one day it will be a TOTM.

Love this setup!

Make me wish I've gone with something bigger. This tank will be inspirational for sure.

Asureef - Thank you! Upgrading is always a good idea!

Wow love what you have done with the tank! Great idea on the extending sump as well, and the organization of all the electronics/controllers. Makes me jealous and wish that I had more money and space haha.
