ZephNYC
Big Bertha, my enormous sexy shrimp passed away today. She was about 1 1/4 inches big and really fat. Comparing her size to the 5 sexies I have in the sump, I am assuming she grew to a ripe old age. I had her for a little over a year. Dingbat decided to show everybody he was the biggest baddest crab in the tank. OMG and you say I need one of those? I can picture it doing that to my goniopora. That reminds me of those old Godzilla or Mothra movies for some reason. Edited October 18, 2012 by ZephNYC Quote Link to comment
jersey
What slipper? I am sending out the coralline, PM me the week of Oct 29 when I am back in town and I will gladly send over a bag. It is basically a small bag of water with coralline flakes and shells/rubble that have the algae on it. No idea how auto correct got slipper from limpet.. lol I'll pm you when you're back. May I ask where you came across the Caulerpa Verticilata and has it been doing well for you? I'm building up my macro collection and I really like the look of it. If you decide to sell ANY cuttings I'm not too far away! I have plenty of the 2 you are selling already Quote Link to comment

I don't know if it was a shrimp, but I definitely merc'd somebody who misbehaved in my tank and fed it to everyone. A few things got sent into my mantis' den for sure. I have to say, I'm proud to see Dingbat is a real crab. Very impressive claw action there. I was thinking he'd be a big softy after all that time in Kat's tank. Quote Link to comment

metrokat
Zeph and I had a shopping and lunch date day planned yesterday. We met at Manhattan Aquariums which is really the only reef store in Manhattan for quality livestock, terrific selection and knowledgable staff. He got there before me and texted me that he was going to nap the forest fire digitata that they had on hold for me. Grrrr. Anyway I ran as fast as my wedge heels would allow only to be greeted by Zeph in a VERY form fitting t-shirt. He should really consider doing a photo shoot. Naked. So back in the day I used to run a photography club in my building. We had access to a dark room and everything. One of the work shops I conducted featured a friend of mine, Leo, who was 5 foot tall and had a 5 foot wide upper body. Using only one tungsten bulb, we came up with this: Anyway, back to my googly eyed day with Zeph yesterday. Should I look at the corals or his chest? Hmmmm. We had a fun time shopping for corals, and saving a few clams from extinction hopefully. I got two little frags - A SUNSET MONTI among them (I can cross that off my Jason fox list finally). I opted not to get the ORA Forest Fire Digitata. It did not have that much green flesh on it and looked almost like the superman digi I have. I'm still hoping they will remove the small yellow tang that cannot swim upright because he wedges himself between the frag rack and the bottom. We saw 2 yellow neon gobies that were in love but were separated by the tank dividers and Carlos at the store was sweet enough to put them together for me. We had lunch at a super sloooooow Sushi place where, as usual, I wolfed down my whole Bento box and half of Zephs, while he kept yapping and barely ate. No wonder he eats all day. He's extremely slow at eating his meals. Came home to the shipment from Sealife! I ordered a lettuce nudi, a red brittle star and a snapping pistol shrimp. They sent me 2 nudis, 2 stars and my shrimp. Shrimp went in the sump where he has founf a spot near the front of the fuge, yay. The nudis are kind of boring, they haven't moved from their spot on the glass since they went in the tank. Not sure I need 2 of them. One star scurried off into hiding as soon as I put it in the tank. The other was sort of inside out in the bag, I put it in anyway not knowing if it might live. For the longest time it stayed where it fell in the tank, not moving, but I see it has gone and hid under a frag plug for now. At least I think it 'went' there instead of the water flow pushing it there. We shall see. I spent yesterday evening gluing the frags down with the new epoxy and IC gel I got from the store. Pics coming up soon. Edited October 19, 2012 by metrokat Quote Link to comment

My dad took my brother and me for Dim Sum in Chinatown every weekend in the summer while I was little. It was one of those places where the name of the establishment is in Chinese and nobody speaks a lick of english and you have no idea what you are eating but everything tastes amazing. So our dad basically gave us chopsticks and we could either eat with them or go hungry. I've been eating with chopsticks since I was 8. Quote Link to comment
Spirofucci
Dim Sum........YUM!!!!! Haven't had that forever. Last time was in China Town, Frisco many years ago. Quote Link to comment

metrokat
Let's see how we are doing. Nasuto when I got it March 14 Browned out Today I don't have many demanding, or high end SPS, just a few. This one is one of them. It took me a good 6 months to get it to color back up again. Montipora April 17 Today I give up. Sometimes it's a Rainbow montipora then it changes to pokerstar montipora. Quote Link to comment
