SerenityReef
Heyyyy! Where have you been? I can't believe you read my thread let alone keep up with the fact that I had a picture in the contest. Thanks though. Surprise! Been chilling with Harley for their 110th B-day and needed something to read on the plane...what else could take 2 and a half hours other than your thread! Guess I owe you some pics of the frags I picked up off you... Quote Link to comment
metrokat
In other news....just ordered a new 40B! WHAT! Another tank?! Voted. Picture of the tail spot please. I have been looking at them for a while. Really nice colors on the head. Getting windy here. Hundley, the tail spot Blenny is VERY skittish at the moment, he is still not comfortable and will take a while to acclimate. He routinely goes into camouflage mode at the slightest provocation. I decided to tidy up the display fuge a little bit yesterday (Hundley is in there) and he hid for 24 hours. Very stressful for both fish and mama. But here's is a cell phone picture when he was first added, showing how scared he was. I hope to get better pictures as he acclimates and settles in. Not sure if I can get his beautiful colors because my fuge light is not the brightest. BATMANS BATFISH PARTY!!! Just to piss Kat off. You totally should re-name it, I LOVE that name?! Pfft piss me off? only if you nap my S&^t. Surprise! Been chilling with Harley for their 110th B-day and needed something to read on the plane...what else could take 2 and a half hours other than your thread!Guess I owe you some pics of the frags I picked up off you... You party animal you. Need lots of updates and pictures Brian. Edited August 26, 2012 by metrokat Quote Link to comment
metrokat
I'm breaking in a new pair of gym shoes! Yay. finally got a pair that might work. I experimented with food today. Let me tell you, the fish nearly JUMPED OUT of the tank to eat this concoction: New spectrum 1mm pellets Julian Sprung Phytoplan Reef Cleaners Filter feeder Formula 1 capsule 1000mg Fish oil I let the dry foods soak in the oil. added a couple of drops of water to make a gooey paste. Then I dunked the spatula I used to mix it up in the tank and THEY WENT BANANAS! Quote Link to comment
jedimasterben
Would Phytoplan be an acceptable replacement for live phytoplankton from Algagen? Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Would Phytoplan be an acceptable replacement for live phytoplankton from Algagen? Nothing beats live food. But Algagen can get expensive. I've got a local supplier for live beautiful green phyto, he seels a large 16oz or so bottle for $15. Want me to put you in touch with him? When I've used phytoplan in my copepod culture, it stinks! But the live phyto never does. Having said that, I use phytoplan quite often. It won't mix in water you kinda have to mush it between your fingers while dipping in water. Then it works. It is pretty dense and will stay nicely suspended in the water column allowing everybody to feed. Quote Link to comment

I can get 16oz of Algagen Phyto for $20 locally, so by the time his is shipped, it'll be a lot more. Next time there is a frag swap, there are always people selling 2L bottles of phyto for $5-8, I'll have to get some and start my own cultures. It's more work, but beats $12 a month in phyto alone. I figured out I spend more on food for fish and corals than I do on myself. Well, not really, but you get the idea. Quote Link to comment

mike c
WHAT! Another tank?! YES!!! 40B, drilled with an overflow! Debating whether to sell off my 28, or keep it as a quarantine tank... Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Fed more of the concoction. Feeding response: The cat I've had Charlie for a year. This is the FIRST full body picture I have ever managed to get of him. He usually darts out of his burrow for a quick second. This time he was swimming in the current for a while. These Zoas have never been 'seen' to eat before Geowge, not so skinny anymore, but still not chunky Quote Link to comment
Spirofucci
Looks like they like your cook'in. Quote Link to comment
jedimasterben
Once your zoas start eating whole PE mysis (at least attempting to, that is), then it'll be impressive. Quote Link to comment
albertthiel
Fed more of the concoction. Feeding response: Looking good ... and yes those little ones can be hard to catch on camera indeed Quote Link to comment

At level 5 you have to stab yourself with an Epi-pen. My doctor wrote me a script for "get rid of cat" Quote Link to comment
