Fume Fume Fume I fed the tank some coral crack from reef cleaners and shooed him away but he came right back to perch on the monti cap. So I moved the milli to another place. Ha. That worked. Spirofucci
Nice pics of the new fishies! Did you solve your ATO problem??? Quote Link to comment
metrokat
My ATO is still problematic. I'm going to adjust the auto shut off of the ATO to 14 minutes, it comes factory installed for 3 minutes. If that doesn't work ill swap the toms for a pump that is more powerful than toms but less than an mj1200. Quote Link to comment

Well, I guess your bucket of water would be on the floor in 3 or 14 minutes. lol. I'm gonna try the hose clamp idea, I'll let you know how it works. Quote Link to comment
metrokat
Its a slow drip, 14 minutes will not flood my apartment. Quote Link to comment
ditka
hmm... slow drip sounds a little off for an aqualifter. how much slack is there in the air line tubing between the aqualifter and the tank? if your tubing dips down then comes back up you might be loosing head pressure, also if ther is a kink in the line. mine has a similar pumping height to yours and is comes out in a stream, a weak stream, but a stream nontheless. also, what chamber is your float switch in? 14minutes, even at a drip should come pretty close to trigering it. metrokat
Thanks. There is not much slack, the issue is that the height the pump has to lift the water is probably greater than 30 inches that is advertised by Tom's. I'll measure to be sure and report back. As a test I took the tube out of my tank and into a bucket, the siphon created a continuous flow, a weak flow but a continuous one. Turning on the pump in this position was a stronger flow but still not as strong as I've seen some videos of. Quote Link to comment

I ordered new baffles for the pump, something like $3 from BRS, and now it pumps water in a continuous stream even with the pump being about 5 feet from my sump. Quote Link to comment

Spirofucci
Is that a "note to self" on your foot? Quote Link to comment
phi delt reefer
betch-ya slapped yourself in the head when you realized you wrote on the wrong part of your foot, lol! wife's getting these for valentines day; as for your flatworm problem a Melanurus Wrasse would be a good addition. Not very aggressive and loves to eat flatworms. Salifert's flatworm exit works great too - just need to follow the directions EXACTLY as listed. try raising the aqualifter higher. metrokat
nice shoes! I would hurt myself in those, I'm a klutz as it is. So the aqua lifter needs the baffles replaced. The height between the unit and the tank is 30 inches precisely since I lifted the pump higher. Edited February 9, 2012 by metrokat Quote Link to comment
