...there is..you just don't see it ;p...have some hope Joel...

I had hope the first time I got dead coral, not anymore. Actually it's more for the DOA guarantee, by my best judgement that this is as dead as it can be. And he insures DOA up to an hour after receipt. So when I saw it in the bag I texted him that I feared it was DOA, and then I took pictures about 15 minutes after getting the package and texted him again.

I'm not going to try for a replacement, just a partial PayPal refund of what it cost.

i'm not a fan of acrylic plugs

Once they are settled they are coming off. I hate plugs period but they are mounted on rocks then mounted on plugs so I can take them off easier.

That monti frag looks like its a piece of acrylic, lol. I agree with Brad keep it and see what happens.

I gotcha. Makes sense. But I still hope the best for your frag

I do too, I just know how bad it sucks when you keep hoping it will recover and it never does. So I'm writing it off now so if it's dead nbd and if it comes back hallelujah it's a miracle and I'll be pleasantly surprised. Not to sound preferential but I'm just happy it didn't happen to the grinch, sunset, or rainbow. *knocks furiously on wood*

That's what I said it looked like

Sunset and Grinch already opening under basement T12 lights. Let's hope that's a indicator for ease of care:

:o that looks nice. I have a Wacom tablet somewhere around here but hardly use it anymore. That one definitely has some great features.

 my dog wants to eat anything I have and she is a real pest about it. For years and years there are certain things we don't give her like chocolate or spicy things for her own good. One day I was eating hot chips (yum) and she wanted some and just wouldn't let up so I gave her a very small piece of a milder chip and that was the face she made. I can't believe she still begs for hot chips.

I have Julian's and Eric's books and can never seem to find what these little frags will look like.

Go to the other big reef site. If you don't know what I'm talking about pm me :)

I've seen many matured and established tanks full of SPS colonies on there. It will give you a good idea :) Or maybe youtube the names of specific corals. I haven't tried that myself, but I find plenty of reef things I'm interested in learning more about, on there.

No reason to dip when there's nothing there:

That was a superman monti? That looks really bizarre. Was it growing on a chunk of clear acrylic? I'm having trouble figuring that one out

Yeah, it was. And I'm glad other people are having trouble too. I think it was growing on acrylic but the one side that vaguely looks like coral is completely white. Like I said, I'm not worried about it. I took care of it, notified the seller, took pictures and emailed them to him all within an hour of receiving the box and I have in writing in an email that he will honor DOA guarantee within an hour. He's a really nice guy and I know he's going to make it right. Like I told him, I'm not mad at all, I just want to work it out. :)

Yeah, I saw that in the lounge but I didn't say anything because, well, it was the lounge. But my condolences to the Taggarts.

Sorry to hear about the superman monti, Joel! At least everything else looks alive. Hopefully they'll all return to being very happy shortly. SPS's and shipping just do not seem to go well together unfortunately.

Oh, and what two zoas are those?

It's fine, I know he will make it right. :)

The RB lights just came on and omgomgomg now I see the difference between regular coral and tyree and JF coral. Holy cow. The grinch is amazing and the sunset is radiant.

No idea on what zoas they are. I'm going to hold off trying to ID them until they color up.

Those all look good! One loss isn't too bad and at least it was just the superman. I believe the zoa on the left in that photo is a ring of fire. Not sure about the one on the right.

I'm definitely pleased, especially since I'm currently talking to him about fixing it. He's so nice I almost felt bad about telling him one arrived DOA. I also asked him what the zoas are. 1 DOA with these fantastic corals and the price is impossible to beat. :)

Might be faster to find one.

That's it. I need more montis asap. Those are sweet.

Fun fact, that yellow acro looking one is also a montipora. :) thanks bud! They have a long way to go before they are remotely fraggable but I'll be sure to share them.

That red and blue monti is going to look pretty awesome in your tank Joel! Congrats.

Thanks dude! I finally have big boy coral.

Big boy coral, haha, I know what you mean. One of my first corals was a purple monti cap. I didn't pay any attention to how big it was or its needs. Just ordered it. It remains one of my favs, especially since I didn't kill it.
