cool! try and get the botom part where the new growth is at as close as you can to another piece of rock and that should help them along. we are talking bout the acans right? lol

lol ohh lame well they should be fine tim, i've got a couple of sticks that broke and i shoved them in a hole in my lr and they seem to be just fine.

@ AM, i'm testing the theory on blastos as we speak so in a couple of months i'll update you. ;) but on the acans it works well. it keeps you from getting a "ball" of acans that half way to impossible to frag down the road. keeps things nice and flat. or atleast rock shaped.

i'll add some pics tonight when i get home of where i stuck the 2 pieces so you can see what i'm talking about.

yeah if you want the ball just let them grow as usual if you want the acans to grow over the rock set them up so they have something to spread over. yeah divec brought it up in on his thread, and i had just assumed most folks did that.

as far as the blastos i don't think theres really away around the eventual ball concept but i'm gonna try and manipulate it in my favor for ease of cutting and such in the future.

2 pictures are worth a 2 thousand words?

I don't know about the thousands of words but... The frags are mounted to the SIDE of 2 aragocrete flat rocks that I made specifically for acan grow out. I epoxied the frags to the side of the rock and then filled in the gaps with more putty. This is so that the frag has something to grow onto right away instead of having to work on growing a new skeleton. It will try and grow heads down the side of the frag, but I feed them every day and growth is astronomical. I have 6 new heads growing on each of the frags on p.5

Hey Mark, I'm not sure if everything is going to make it. The Green Birds Nest is doing awesome, polyps totally out and happy. The Green Cap is still looking good but the other two, the stag and unid'd monti are looking like they RTN'd in the bag. The algae looks good. I don't know what they looked like in your tank but they aren't too happy right now. I'll get some pics when I'm less busy.

Those Acans are all puffed out and super happy right now so thats exciting.

Oh the RBTA found a nice crack to make a home in and is doing fine also. :)

ok well at least some stuff made it. We can settle it all later when we know what makes it and what doesn't.

In the mean time PICS!!!! :D

I'm glad that the BoP made it. It was a fav. I would have been really really pissed if usps killed it. and the nem too, that one was cute.
