StevieT
looking great..... Just a thought, why is everyone going to MH's over your tank? Is the stock lighting not sufficient?? Depends on what you want to keep. I had good experiences with the stock lighting but just like an aging woman you always want to upgrade. Hobbyist are like that, never satisfied with the current horsepower, need more and more. MH opens the doors to SPS corals in all areas. I can't find it but there is some guy from Greece with an RSM with stock lighting that's pretty amazing. Maybe Stevie T remembers that one? Not off the top of my head, I do have about 3-4 customers in Greece with the media basket/skimmer cup very young tank with 2 mountain ranges (Mt. Zoa and Lovers Leap) and a valley.. Needs volcano looking corals on the right. Red zoas for the magma, something spitting off the top Link to comment
ToXIc
Needs volcano looking corals on the right. Red zoas for the magma, something spitting off the top that's exactly my thought, i got a molten lava chalice but unfortunately chalices rather be placed low in the tank.. and i'm not too farmila with all the corals/names/species to complete my vision.. Daleo
Put a large dendro polyp at the top of it so it looks like a volcano erupting Link to comment

ReefDreamz
Are there some SPS you just cant keep with the stock lighting????? Lastly, my Dendro is up about 4 inches off the top of the water from a 175MH..... and it LOVES the light... just gotta keep up with the feeding ( dang thing is a PIG!) Link to comment
StevieT
There is lots of SPS you shouldn't keep with the stock lighting. Also it needs to be right at the top and most aquascapes only allow for a few pieces to get the most light Link to comment
ReefDreamz
hmmmm now Im rethinking things..... I would like to keep montipora ( plating and encrusitng), maybe some birdsnest.... still possible? I see your clam was alright too??? Ok, maybe some pocci's too... mainly I am a LPS guy tho.... StevieT
I had monti caps and birdsnest under the stock lighting. They are "lower light" sps Link to comment
