I shot it with it on and off while the camera was on a tripod. The video quality did not seem the same compaired when I used hd camcorder. I will try to shoot it a few different ways, practice more with the video functions within my camera, and see what happens. Mike Good plan. AJ_Tsin Posted March 6, 2010 Author Share Posted March 6, 2010 Yesterday the Deltec MCE-300 was replaced with a Vertex IN-100. Although the Deltec is an incredible little skimmer, it is meant to be a hang-on so the pump uses a lot of power lifting the water before even pumping bubbles into it. This is great in a Biocube or in a small stand, however In a large sump in a room with infinite space this doesn't make sense as there is plenty of room for a submersible in-sump skimmer. The Deltec is going up for sale and will serve someone with a small sump or an all in one perfectly. Here is some photos of the unboxing assembly and application of the Vertex. What a beautiful skimmer for the price. I will post some photos of the skimmate when I get some. The sps frags are getting pretty colorful. Sorry for the poor quality photos. They're all cropped and digitally zoomed I will take more with a better DSLR soon. I had a bit of Diatom growth which is going away now but its still white. I am sure it will get a bit dusty in time but for now I am loving the pure white. Thanks for following this thread. I have the pump pretty high up and the return lines from the sump are spraying across the surface and into the flow creating a random pattern and also preventing whirlpools on the surface. I also I think because I am dosing Bacteria and Vodka the sand bed clumps together. I actually just changed to reef crest mode and its at about 65-70% with no problems. Not sure if I am sold on this mode yet. At first I had a bit of cloudy water at times but I think I have the flow patterns perfected. Also I have almost 650 gph with my return pump which has the return lines split with four unidirectional nozzles. Will expose more corallites to the light, grow more branches and get to the tabling aspect sooner.
