VtheMaestro
The intent originally was for people to post fixtures that were built by others, and not commercial. Seeing as I didn't specify, I'll take it anyway. Anyone else who is running AI, Ecolamps, PFO, CoralSky, Nanocustoms or other fixtures/retros is welcome to post as well. I just hope that all of this LED goodness can inspire someone else to take the leap. that being said, please add my tank to the list Maestro's Ecoxotic- Powered Illuminata Edited May 10, 2010 by VtheMaestro Quote Link to comment

thefu
Aww, you posted your link to the wrong forum Just kidding I still need to come see this in person, nice job again Nick! easy now Matt... Nick is just sharing the love... Nick did an awesome job fitting that heat sink into the RSM. It fit like a glove and the clamp solution was very creative. What was the total cost to retro this Nick? I estimate about $300-$350 Quote Link to comment

imchee
So last night I soldered the RB lights onto the heatsink, connected to the PS and whammo we have light!!! I am so glad I took my time and read and re-read everyone's builds until I was confident I knew what I was doing. I'll wait for another day to do the whites since I'm in no rush. My project list is pretty much the exact replica of everyone else's NC or BC set up. Here's something new I learned...I used an old PC power cord. Inside were 3 insulated wires Brown, Blue and Green and another uninsulated wire which stumped me for what its use was. I scoured the internet for almost an hour before I stumbled on the proper name for it....drain wire. Then I had to figure out what to do with it. I ended up twisting it along with the Green ground. So far no electrical fires Yay We need someone to do a youtube video of the proper way to solder the stars. I burned one finger and also touched the iron on the glass of one of the stars by mistake. One of the wires was barely reaching so I kinda bridged the connection with solder. I'll clean it up and re-do it again. Don't mind me...just excited I got light!!! Quote Link to comment
