shotgunfl
Do you mean the first, or 3rd chamber, because if your talking about the 3rd chamber ( the one on the left side, if im standing there looking at it from the front) then thats where the stock pump goes, and the mj 900 is almost the same as the stock pump. If I were you, I would go with the mj1200! I was talking about the third chamber. I realized after I posted that people were replacing the pump on the 14G Biocube with the mj900. I am considering a hydor flow but I think I'll see how it runs with the stock pump before I replace it. Thanks Quote Link to comment
spanko
Here is a post to my 29 bio cube if you would like to add it. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...39;s+29+biocube Quote Link to comment
Adkins.its
Alright I got all the silicion scraped of and got the rear section back on. I will post pics on my lunch break tomorrow. It looks pretty dope. Other than the live rock temporaily just tossed in there and lack of corals it looks great. Quote Link to comment

Kamao
Havent read the whole thread, kinda lazy today. But has anyone modded a BC 14G with a DIY 70w MH kit? If so, are there any big heat issues after installing. Quote Link to comment

plainrt
go with a aftermarket light. It will save you alot of trouble Quote Link to comment
Bigben7
Ok, I have seen Nosey say to go w/ the MJ 1200 in this thread, but BKJ2 said the MJ 1200 creates too much heat. I'm assuming this was with the stock hood and closed. Does anyone w/ a Sunpod or other light w/ open top have a MJ 1200 running? Let's get more than two opinions out there. Thanks. colgan10
Hey just thought i would throw this quick video of the mp 20 in action in a 29 biocube incase anyone else was wanting one. I would totally recommend it my coral growth has exploded since the addition. The first video is reef crest mode and second is short pulse. Quote Link to comment

89-LX
hey, new here with a 29BC. I was wondering how you guys modded the return line to add a Y to it. It seems that the standard size on the tank is an oddball size and not really lin-loc at all. Quote Link to comment

lshane
I just finished reading this thread from beginning to end and I would love it if you could add my 14g biocube to the thread. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...=180937&hl= Also, any and all biocubers out there I would love some feedback on the things I am doing well or could work on in my tank. I just started (9 weeks ago today!) and I am trying to take things very slow... its painful... Thanks everyone for putting so much info on this thread to help out newbies like me! L. leoan
do most people end up cutting the divider that lets water pass through chamber 1 to chamber 2? Im trying to decide if i should order the InTank media basket that has the standard stay or longer stay holder. What the reason why some people cut the divider?? Quote Link to comment
Deckerjustin
would chamber 2 be filled with water or what plz explain more Quote Link to comment
StevieT
do most people end up cutting the divider that lets water pass through chamber 1 to chamber 2? Im trying to decide if i should order the InTank media basket that has the standard stay or longer stay holder. What the reason why some people cut the divider?? About 60% of my BC29 customers do remove that divider piece. It can't hurt and can only improve flow. Yet in the BC29 the extra flow isn't as drastic as with the 14 and 8 tanks. I vote to remove it. would chamber 2 be filled with water or what plz explain more what are you refering to? Quote Link to comment
Deckerjustin
chamber 2 would it be full or water or whould the water simply flow from chamber 1 to a half filled chamber 2 over the cheato? i think iam getting over whelmed with the tank. as for some reason i cant get the water to be crystal clear like my other 2 tanks. and where would the fliter go? would that go in the removeable drip tray (top one) in chamber 2? Orangutran
Anyone have their fish jump into the back chambers? I lost a clown cus he jumped onto my filter floss... I'm sure it's been done before, but I added this cross stitching mesh, just super glued it. Hope it'll save a future fish for you guys... Quote Link to comment
lshane
My fish (diamond goby) jumped back there twice, luckily he landed in chamber 3 where there is a bit of water, for days I thought he was dead, then I googled it and it seems a lot of fish do this... I think I may have lost a shrimp there too... I found one in the filter tray once and saved him in time, but now I seem to be missing one shrimp and have yet to find a body? Quote Link to comment
Mike Maddox
Excellent guide, and thanks for the info. The only thing I disagree with is "not keeping a clam". Tell that to the maxima in my BC8 that's grown a half inch in in under 2 months. With photosynthetic inverts, it's all about meeting the carbon compensation point. More light does not necessarily equal better growth or healthier animals. Edited March 8, 2009 by D2Rhino Quote Link to comment
Vesian
To the people discussing the MJ900 and 1200: Are you REMOVING the stock pump in chamber 3 and replacing it with these? Does it fit? Are the benefits worth the 30-40 bucks? Quote Link to comment
