i've been trying to get some decent shots of my Blue Spotted Jawfish outside of his Barnacle House - while feeding the tank today, I was able to snap a series of photos. Enjoy!

Looks great! I'll be interested to see how the SPS you have do long term under the PC lighting. I was thinking about retro fitting my BC29 hood to MH but if yours remain healthy perhaps I'll forego the upgrade as well.

Thanks. I plan on replacing the PCs every 8 months.

My inTank Media Basket and Fuge Basked arrived today!

I have to say, StevieT runs a really professional business over at inTank. The products arrived today in a box full of Saltwater-ish graphics pasted to it ... I opened it up, and each product was individually wrapped in packing paper, like little brown paper bag presents. I unboxed them, then unwrapped them, and I love them.

I installed the BC29 Media Basket & BC29 Fuge Basket (remember, I already have the BC29 Fish Saver) and all of the products fit well in the rear chambers. I was having a bit of water noise, water was trickling down between the Media Basket and the Rear Wall of the BC29, but I just had to stuff a bit of Filter Floss between the Media Basket and the False Wall to press the basket firmly against the Back Wall, and now it's perfect. Quiet as can be.

My filtration is officially pimped out.

Love the red and blue mushrooms, and sweet zoas,

all from LFS or get any online?

A mix of both, most zoas are from online (altisreef.com), the spotted mushrooms are from a member here (phishyally) and most of the other stuff is from my LFS.

Tank looks like it is coming along well.

I have a 14g biocube right now but have an opportunity to pick up a used 29. I get the sense that there is much more space in the larger tank but do you find it to be much more obtrusive in the room?

I am also in an apartment and will need to put it in the same place as the 14, I taped it out on the floor and the foot print is not much greater, about 5 inches longer and deeper, but things tend to look much bigger when you get them set up.

If you ask my wife, it looks MUCH bigger than the 14G. If you ask me, I say it looks a little larger, but not crazy huge. If you look at the dimensions, I think it is only like 2" or so larger in each direction.

Okay, that is what I figure will happen at my place, I taped it out on the floor around the 14gallon and it is only about 2 inches larger on each side, but I bet when I set it up my girlfriend will have a similar opinion as your wife.

NEW FRAG DAY!

I just got back from my LFS with six new frags - they were all $10 each! I picked up:

  • FOUR BIG FRAGS of Japanese Deepwater Zoanthids
  • Pink Pocillipora Frag
  • Orange Monti Cap Frag

Pics to come as soon as everything is happy.
