StevieT
Not recently, I moved out of IL March of 2009. I was in there a few times, pretty good shop yet overpriced like most LFS. Link to comment

StevieT
Thanks. He is a biggin' about 7" long 5" wide when open. I think he is a little too close to the top, when I was aquascaping it wasn't where I wanted it. But I broke the rock he was going on drilling the hole for the acrylic rod. Link to comment
Deleted User 6
You don't use clam pedestals? Link to comment
AdriftQuasar
Glad to see things are doing well. The out of water shots are really neat! Link to comment
StevieT
You don't use clam pedestals? They are for the sand, not on rock. The calm on the sand is attached to a rock already and I don't want to mess him up, was like this before the calm pedestal was produced. I just upgraded to a laser cut basket when I moved the tank and they have been out for a year. I guess inventory is more valuable on the shelf than in my personal tank. Link to comment
alainarose
I haven't posted for about a year now and for good reason. I was the guy that had my RSM instantenously crack/explode in the middle of the night back in June 09. $25,000 later in damages and expenses, loss to all of my livestock, etc. Just yesterday I finally received the check for my out of pocket expenses to the tune of an extra $4k from RSM. RSM finally settled with the subrogation company representing my insurance provider. All costs of the claim and out of pockets were paid in full. It has taken so long since RSM was to say the least "very difficult" in dealing with on this case. After the subrogation company had to hire a 3rd party structural engineer to examine my tank, RSM was sunk based on the findings. This was ready to go to court but RSM finally settled out of court. Seeing that other forums had members from around the globe displayed the same crack/fault it has been RSM standard procedure to hurry up and get the owner a new tank, "free of charge" no questions asked. RSM does this to free them of any liability because most homeowners don't want to file a claim with their insurance. In my case I had almost $25k worth of damages/loss in my home. I have since switced to a Finnex 30 w/MH lamp. Not the prettiest tank but it doesn't have the "ticking timebomb" rounded glass corners. Link to comment
StevieT
Good to hear you received settlement which was probably just. In Red Sea's defense I have been around here long enough and now in the business to know that the RSM probably does not have any more failures as other curved glass tanks on the market. Sounds like they may have a few bad apples during manufacturing at a certain point. Which in the business world sucks because you sub it out. I hope all of your expenses were covered and it sounds like it didn't scare you away from the hobby. Link to comment
