makingfilms
I was feeding my fish tonight and I just watched my female clown grab my male clown by the pelvic fin shake him around violently and tore his fin half off. He is swimming ok and the female isn't bothering him anymore but what should I do To help him recover. I don't have much fish medication currently but can grab stuff first thing tomorrow. Also has anyone else experienced this before. I know clowns can be aggressive but I haven't seen that kind of attack before. Also I can't get pictures currently cause he is hiding in a cave but is definitely still active just not coming out into open water Link to comment
patback
It's fine. No need for intervention unless you see the female being overly abusive. It may grow back but also may not depending on how much is gone already. I had an extreme miscarriage that had his ripped off and never came back. Made him look smaller and cuter imo. Misbar. Not miscarriage. Whoops Link to comment
makingfilms
Ok thanks. I will keep an eye out. The female clown is mean anyways and always bites me when I clean the tank. but she usually pays no attention to the male clown since they established their dominance thing a few months ago. She did kill some smaller feeder fish and shrimp when She was in my predictor tank. I did move them to another tank so maybe they need to reestabish their roles. Who knows. Link to comment
