SubMariner0805
Hey everyone, I have a Tunze Osmolator Nano 3152 that I have been using with my reef aquarium for about 6 months now. However, occasionally I notice that the float switch fails to trigger the pump to fill up my return pump chamber. Essentially, It will work fine for a day or two and then I will come home and my return pump chamber will be near empty (while my reservoir will be completely full). At that time, if I unplug the Tunze Osmolator and plug it back in it will start working again. Can you provide me with any assistance as to what may be going wrong? I have added a few pieces of cardboard inbetween the outside magnet and the back tank panel to make sure it didn't have anything to do with the magnet. Any help you can provide me would be great! Thanks! Craig Z Link to comment
jestep
Can you feel if the float switch moves freely up and down? It still uses a mechanical float so the white round disc looking thing should move up and down inside of the protector. Link to comment

burtbollinger
when my tunze used to fail it was always pump related...not the sensor...pump churning but for some reason not sucking in enough water. after a while it would give up. Link to comment
ninjamyst
Mine did the same thing. Threw it into the closest and got a smart micro ato. Way better than this crap Link to comment
SubMariner0805
Contact Roger at Tunze for help Tunze at sbcglobal dot net You read my mind. I actually talked to Roger a bit today. when my tunze used to fail it was always pump related...not the sensor...pump churning but for some reason not sucking in enough water. after a while it would give up. Roger over at Tunze said it was probably the pump as well. Mine did the same thing. Threw it into the closest and got a smart micro ato. Way better than this crap I am going to look into that ATO. Thanks for the suggestion. Link to comment
burtbollinger
i used to fix mine by 'priming' it...sucking on tubing to ensure I could draw water...from then on it would work. Link to comment
