Nanomaniac
False Percula Clownfish reach an average adult size of 3-4 inches, a pair would be fine in your size of tank. There are many Sandsifting Gobies that would stir up the substrate for you and be a nice addition to your system. The best way to reduce the amount of nuisance algae in your system would be to have adequate flow, not overfeed, complete frequent water changes and keep an eye on water parameters. Link to comment
Clown79
2 clowns are fine in the 29g. Sand sifting goby are good but I'd wait until the tank is more established as there isn't enough food for it in new tank. The best way to reduce or control algae is reducing controllimg nutrient levels. Weekly waterchanges: vacuum sand, turkey bast rocks, clean chambers every 2 weeks. Low bioload, low feedings Changing filter floss 2 times a week Link to comment
Antone
Dragon gobies work great or you can use crab, goby, jaw fish. I like hermit crabs. They are interesting. Link to comment
jambon
It sounds normal fr the sand to get a brown layer in a new tank. I would keep up with regular maintenance and it should level out. Feeding too much I think contributes to the bio load as well and new tanks can't cope as well as more established systems. Link to comment
