cyrusmon
Hey guys So i just picked up this bubble tip anemone a few days ago and i noticed this like growth on it. Just wanted to know if this is normal or not. The anemone also seems to be splitting as well. Heres a picture, im worried about the stuff in the middle http://s1013.photobucket.com/user/cyrusslr/media/Anemone.jpg.html?filters[user]=98991039&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 Link to comment
jestep
It looks like it may have been smashed or damaged by something. Bubble isn't necessarily normal, but I don't think I'd be worried about that part, more about the compressed front of it. What did it look like when you first put it in the tank? The rest of the color and inflation looks good though. Have you seen anything picking on it or has anything tried to host it? What inverts do you have in this tank? Link to comment
RIP Sebastian
Just let him be. How old is your tank? Link to comment

Hard to tell but the stuff in the middle looks like it's mouth. If it's laying in the sand put it in your rock work and don't touch it again. Link to comment

How old is your tank? I have two clownfish but they haven't hosted it in it or paid much attention to it My tanks been running for a few months now (cycle is done) I touched it with my finger and the anemone deflated and seemed to push air out from that area and those orange/red fleshy part just came off on its own. RIP Sebastian
You shouldn't have an anemone in your tank until it has been running successfully for at least six months. Link to comment

Clown79
I agree. Ppl need to wait to add anemones. They need a stable tank and tanks can take at least 6 mnths to stabilize. There is no guarantee the anemone will ever host the clowns. Link to comment
gonebad395
Yeah a lfs will tell you anything to get livestock out the door. Not saying yours did but that and impatience is how these end up in tanks that aren't ready for them. I hope you have a good experience I would read more on new purchases. Link to comment
