Heater recommendations for Fluval Evo V?

I can't determine what the recommended heater setup is for the Evo V (or a reef Spec V).

Some suggest a Hydor 50w (or something that fits) in the back chamber. I've read where it is suggested to punch holes in the pump line to help circulate the heated water.

Others suggest a Cobalt Neotherm in the main tank, but that is not obviously as aesthetically pleasing. Temperature readings are likely more accurate, though.

Thoughts? Thank you!

The only heater I found that would keep the temp stable in a Spec V was the 50 watt Cobalt Neotherm. Since it is black and flat, it wasn't too bad placed against the black wall.

I presume you are referring to the separating wall between the tank and chamber? Thanks.

I use whatever fits in in the return chamber. i think it was the Hydor 50 watts. i can't stand equipment (including heater) in the display...defeats the whole point of getting an AIO to hide equipments in the back chamber.

i like my little 50w aqueon preset heater. consistent 78° and can hide it about anywhere. currently sits in my HOB

i had a hydor Eheim since i asked same question about a year ago. it was gigantic for a 50w and temp fluctuates 3-4 degrees throughout the day. its new home is in my premix saltwater can at home

edit: sorry, it was an eheim i had
