Saltydude
Hey guys, I was wondering how you guys attach THE corals to rocks. By THE corals I mean softies, lps and sps and how to handle them. I think for... Soft corals - leave them on rubble or rubber band them to rock? Lps- glue or are their other options? Sps- probbly glue? Others their other ways to attach hard corals without epoxy or glue? Link to comment
Muraki
Superglue Gel has always did the trick for me. Just put a glob on one end, and hold where you want it for about 30-60 seconds. Link to comment
Saltydude
Would that work for softies? Link to comment
Muraki
I have done it it several times. Best to glue the soft corals to the rock or plug while it is out of the water and get the rock area somewhat dry first. Place Loctite superglue Gel on the rock, than push the softy against it for 30-60 seconds. Place back in tank. LPS and SPS are easier though and can be done underwater. Just glob the glue on the bottom end of the lps or sps frag and than hold it against the location you desire inside the tank for a minute. There are other methods that involve epoxy or putties + superglue that have high rates of success, but just using the superglue Gel has always worked for me with frags. Larger pieces might be more difficult. I have no experience there. Link to comment
Clown79
Softies are hard to glue, most of them slime up. Mushrooms slime up big time and can move if they don't like where they are. Xenia slime Zoas use superglue Leathers of certain sizes, often are attached by using a string and needle. If they are on a plug or rock use either super glue gel with cyanoacrylate ingrediant or reef epoxy. Link to comment
