Acan growth questions

Month ago I got acan frag. It has two heads, large and small.

There are two things which look like small acan parts, one on the left even has tiny tentacles.

I would like to know if that pieces are new acans or leftover from frag cutting or something else?

When only blue light is on I can clearly see that it has same pink glow as two heads.

Shrimp touched left piece and it deflated exactly like acan does.

Plus left one has tiny tentacles which are only sometimes out.

Could piece like that recover and grow into full acan head?

I didn't notice this until last few days even though I looked at frag almost every day.

Probably cut heads from fragging. I have had a couple of acans that had pieces of heads, and eventually they did grow into full heads.

It can be a few things. Its hard to tell by the pic.

It can be new heads growing or left over pieces from frag cutting.

Tenticles are normal. Its how they grab food and eat.

Feeding them will help them grow.

What shrimp do you have?

I have skunk cleaner shrimp.

At least two times a week I feed acan and candy canes with pellets. Canes eat all the pellets very slowly

Acan quickly swallow pellet and 15 minutes later spits it out.

I let pellet soak in water first and when it is soft I sprinkle acan with it. Pellet crumbles into tiny particles and acan

takes them. Then in mouth it combines them into single pellet and spits out.

I assume that it doesn't like any pellet that I offered so far. Candy canes just eat.

Tried multiple different pellets but all of them are not coral food but fish or shrimp food.

I will try to get Fauna marin LPS coral pellets.
