PICO Protein Skimmer for 5 Gallon ADA Tank?

Good Evening all!

I have a 5 gallon ADA Pico tank that is about 20 inches in length with a height of only 6 ~ inches.

I currently have one birds nest coral and one ricordea. I plan on buying the other colors of birds nest and ricordea in the near future. By any chance - would anyone have some recommendations on a good pico sized protein skimmer that would accomodate only a 6 inch high tank?

Anyone have any good Hang on the back skimmer recommendations? Are there any tiny internal protein skimmers that would work with 6 inches?

I do around 10% water changes weekly since there are only two corals in there now. I understand this is my protein skimming, but if I ever decide to feed corals, I would want to effectively make the water perfect for my birds nest corals.

Here is my tank!

RIP Sebastian

With a tank this size, there really is no need for a skimmer. I would suggest that you feed (if you decide to-you don't have to) corals on your water change day. Turn off the pumps for an hour before your water change and feed. Then, do your water change. While you're changing it, pick up/vacuum up any remaining food.

A Mame or Reefglass would be perfect!

These are probably your best options.

Many of us with smaller tanks just do larger water changes instead of running a skimmer. On my 6 gallon office tank I'm changing 2 to 3 gallons every week. Tank has been running over 2 years like that with no issues.

So the mame skimmer is about 12.5 Inches long. I'm not sure it would work in my tank that is only 6 1/2 inches high with a 1 inch sand bed.

Any suggestions?

Would a small hang on the back skimmer work? Are there any small hang on the back models?
