asting
I've been using the "regular" dosage, and while I cannot compare to the algae (was almost more preventative) I can say that I haven't suffered losses. Quote Link to comment
Tmr8188
Just ordered some of this. Been battling dinos and bubble algae. The results look promising. Quote Link to comment
SquishyFishy
No bad side effects yet...all alive and well even the stars and sexy shrimp seem fine, Now I have noticed some stubborn Cyano on the rock is starting to fade away...yippee! That's what I wanted. Some Coraline has died on the wave heads but it was dying anyways. Don't know what the problem was there...but I'll trade that for Cyano any day. The big problem was the GHA and it seems better too, the sand is still white. 2 Quote Link to comment
SquishyFishy
O.K. here are 2 new pics so you can compare it with my first one... Really hard to see in the first pic back on page 4, but the GHA that was in the GSP has disappeared and the Cyano on the Anemone rock above has really almost disappeared along with the same rusty smear on the rock above the green shrooms, very satisfied, now if the algae on my frag plug in the first pic will go away, I am claiming total success on Vibrant! And my sps is growing like gangbusters! 3 Quote Link to comment
brandon429
agreed its awesome these types of before and after pics are building up in its favor for sure. some cyano challenges for it, but that was beatable without Vibrant anyway we don't require a doser to do 100% of the work for us. for these niche algae cleanings, not having to drain these harder tanks, amazing. one neat aspect of this doser is its value cannot be made or broken in peer reviewed studies. That's a really neat facet of certain aspects of this hobby where critique is already boxed in with limitations. say what anyone will, this is a landslide of success I don't care if they use diluted prune juice to attain these results. whatever the arrangement, they found it. the peer reviewers can take note just like they had to when allelopathy was shown nbd with the advent of nano reefing. 1 Quote Link to comment
E.Y.
I bought a bottle a few weeks ago and it has worked on on the GHA algae that I had. It began turning brown and is easily siphoned off. Hasn't returned. No CUC lost throughout the dosing. Like others said, I'm cleaning the glass less often. 2 Quote Link to comment

My GHA has also turned dark, but after 2-3 weeks I am still syphoning and manually removing. I would say it is not growing back as much, but would be nice if my hermits and snails would prune for me! asting
For those saying, "it worked at first, then came back" you may need to do more. It sounds like the algae is dying off and releasing everything back into the water, causing another nutrient spike. You'll need more periodic nutrient export. Quote Link to comment
E.Y.
I have three emerald crabs, 6 snails, and 4 blue legged hermits. My main concern is lack of food for them now. I have had issues with the crabs not consuming the algae on the rock after it turns dark. I think they may be staying away because it's no longer edible. I didn't have a lot of algae, but what was on the sand is now gone. I'm definitely changed the filter floss more often the first couple weeks due to build up of dead algae. Quote Link to comment
SquishyFishy
This stuff is definitely worth the $$! Sand is still pristine and white and GHA, which I believe is it's major challenge is slowly dying. I can suck it up in my Sprague baster. I'm going to keep treating until every trace of it is gone. Then I'll just do maintenance. THX so much Brandon, for starting this thread, I don't get out on the net to other blogs much! 1 Quote Link to comment
ninjamyst
ok i am gonna bite and get some. where do i buy it and will it survive winter shipping with the polar vortex hitting the northern states? 1 Quote Link to comment
brandon429
at every point I wanted it to not be as good as peroxide but reporting fairly is more important, its dang good lol. still its accurate to report that with preventative guiding of a marine aquarium, algae can be guided right out in the beginning, like a farmer works his or her land. like a dentist takes care of plaque, manual focused work runs so many industries (abrading-- scrubbing with a toothbrush doesn't count, we need metal-on-rock contact) that to discount it in reefing is to invite either invasion or a link to expenditures though this is the baddest doser ive seen, always consider the free way to be rid of any invader in all of nano reefing. plenty of tanks will never use this additive. if I had a large tank I likely sure would lol. 1 Quote Link to comment
Pjanssen
received a bottle of Vibrant from my Secret Santa today. Just dosed 2.5 ML. Will post results. Quote Link to comment
HarryPotter
I bought some but haven't used it yet. I got worried when Harry and Sancho lost snails. I think it was Harry and Sancho.... Plus, the cyano/dino issue seems to have subsided so I'm keeping the vibrant for a rainy day! Snails might have just been shells I noticed when I was paranoid. I still have some snails Quote Link to comment

teejay
Thanks! Will get the 16oz version. Sent an email to them first about shipping in winter. Will below freezing temperature "kill" / "freeze" the bacteria? That really depends on how low it actually gets and whether or not it will get low enough to actually form ice crystals in the liquid which could rupture their membranes. In our lab, we flash freeze bacteria at -80 C for that reason. So I guess it'll really depend on how they ship it if it actually crystallizes in transit or not. I don't actually have any of it, so I don't even know what else they've added to it, but I think somewhere someone said it has some vinegar in it? Quote Link to comment
SquishyFishy
I used my Amazon Prime acct to buy 8 oz for $30, no shipping fee, so I could get it fast. A little more than the web site with shipping $28. Just one more post and I'll bow out and leave it to the rest of you...my Biocube black rear wall is very porous; most of you with them know its very hard to clean, even with a razor blade! The almost constant cyanno rusty stuff is starting to disappear now, I'm 4 doses in, so don't give up, I've been doing one dose per week to get these results. So with my WC this weekend (I redosed), Its actually been 3 weeks. GHA is proving more resistant, but I'd buy it just for the red slime! Better than any of the red slime crystals!! Like most have said even the glass is cleaner, don't have to scrape much!!! Water is crystal, can't say enough about it...but I won't LOL Marvelous! Quote Link to comment
blizzardscout2
I ordered a bottle. Good reviews so far. My rock leaches phosphates so this might help keep the algae manageable. Quote Link to comment
