fleurferro
Hi everyone! Hopefully you can help me! I just got a watchman goby about 3 weeks ago and he was doing great, but this Monday I took a peek at him and saw that his first dorsal fin was eaten away down to just the rays and where they connect to his body, there was a pink ulcer. At first, I thought it was from scraping up against the live rock, but it appears to be getting worse and looks like the flesh is being eaten away! Weird thing is that his behavior and appetite are completely normal. In fact, he's eating more than he ever has! I tested all the water parameters and they are all perfect. Critters in the tank (30 gal): cardinal fish, feather duster worm, scarlet cleaner shrimp, emerald crab, scarlet legged hermit crabs, and some snails. I'm thinking it's fin rot? I have attached photos. Thank you in advance for your help! Link to comment
Astinus
I am not an expert in such things, but that is a nasty looking wound. I wonder if a medication is available to help heal the open sore. Link to comment
fleurferro
I started dosing him with erythromycin and it looks like it's working! Hopefully we turned a corner! Link to comment
