turner
My nano reef is running smoothly and i have begun to think about next step when the water values are okay. I was wondering regarding clean up crew, if a scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp can be considered part of clean up crew, or is it advisable to wait with adding one? Link to comment
BulkRate
I find an ornamental shrimp or two are great at mopping up uneaten food. The won't clean up nuisance algae or anything like that, but intercepting leftovers before they break down into bloom-fueling nutrients is pretty useful. But as to when? I'd add them after your basic CuC has been in place for 2-3 weeks and things have stabilized. Link to comment
Clown79
Cleaner shrimp are great. They clean up all the left overs but not algae. I would definitely add one when the tank is stable and acclimate it to the tank. Shrimp can be sensitive Link to comment
