Clown79
I just received a new bucket of red sea pro and the bucket os split completely. Literally in half. Can i keep the salt in the bag and put it in another bucket? Link to comment
SouthFlorida_Tron
Should be fine. My biggest enemy with salt buckets and storage is humidity down here in FL... keep it dry and you should be fine. If it starts to get hard and clumpy you know its not sealed!!! Thats why i stick to small bags Link to comment

ajmckay
Keeping white powder in small bags seems like a terrible decision LoL! Agreed you can store it in anything as long as it's sealed. Every salt mix I've ever gotten has been in 50g sealed bags. So as long as they're in bags you can leave them in the broken bucket even - or a box, etc... Link to comment
Clown79
Lol. Thats funny! Thank you. I will make sure my bucket is sealed. I'd keep it in the original bucket but its broken in half. The bag was actually coming out of it. The bag wasn't sealed so I have used an elastic and a clip. Link to comment

I got food grade bucket with seal top from Depot and stored my 20kg Fauna Marin salt in the original bag in it. It sealed really tight. Link to comment

What i meant was instead of ordering buckets now i just do smaller 25 gallon bags of reef crystals from amazon prime, which i then put into sealed containers upon arrival Link to comment

Sunstar
go to a restaurant and see if they'll save a pickle bucket for you. Link to comment
JavaJacketOC
I use the food grade white buckets from Home Depot, you can buy an special lid that has a gasket on it and it seals pretty nicely. Link to comment
Clown79
My reef crystals went hard as a solid rock in sealed buckets. It ws kept in a closet near no water?? I'm not a fan of reef crystals for a few reasons. Thats why i switched to coral pro- they don't have smaller boxes or I would have gone that route. Link to comment
