I'm going to be getting a new osc clown pair. Now I know their not gaurenteed to host a nem. But if I was to QT them for a month in the QT tank (no medications unless needed) with a RBTA. And they do host it. Will transferring them with the nem over to the DT Reduce stress or increase it? After having a wipeout from velvet I want to keep stress to a minimum.

My clowns host a frogspawn, if i go near it the female freaks on me. She attacks me when i clean around it.

Why not just add the rbta after you qt the fish and add them to the dt?

I agree with clown- Add rbta after qt and then to dt--

Clown- wow you are so lucky, I kept hoping my clowns would host a frogspawn- Mine is pretty big too!

Interesting. do they freak out when the frogspawn closes at night? Or closes for whatever reason.

Actually its really odd. My one clown never bothered hosting anything. then i got her a mate. Within a day he was in the frogspawn and the female followed. Everytime he went into it, she followed.

Now they rarely leave it. THe male will only swim a few inches away and then darts back. the female will venture farther but not for long. At night when it closes, they stay in between the heads.

The frogspawn is huge. i have another one right next to it and they haven't gone near it but its only a frag.

I assumed this post was going to be about keeping a tank in an RV.

In regards to the initial question, what type of QT setup do you have? Is it mature enough to handle a bta? Does it have sufficient lighting and flow?
