I know higher number sometime is not always better and too high or too low is not always better and vice versa. Link to comment

I know higher number sometime is not always better and too high or too low is not always better and vice versa. It's a good salt, really most salts are good enough. I like AquaForest if you can find it, and it should be cheaper, but for my money convenience, availability, and near natural sea water params are most important. Link to comment

Canadianeh
I just want to say that Fauna Marin Prof Salt is very easy to work with and mix and clear up so fast under 30 minutes. I got 1.026 SPG on the first mix each first time. I am using Milwaukee digital refractrometer which is very easy to work with. Link to comment

Canadianeh
Is the results in meq/L or dkh? What test kit are you using? I got 63 ppm and using online alkalinity calculator that translates to 3.5 dkh. I was using an older version of Alkalinity reagent. I am going to try it again tonight using the newest version of reagent after the update. I am using Exact Idip 570nm. Link to comment
Canadianeh
I just tested again using the newest version of reagent and I got Alkalinity of 96 ppm or 5.38 dkh or 1.92 mEq/L It is much higher than my last night test, but it is much lower than what Fauna Marin stated on their spec for Alkalinity The other parameters I got: PH 7.8 Calcium Ultra high 1050 ppm (as CAC03) or 61.34 gpg or 58.83 dgh or 420 ppm (as Ca) or 105.00 fh or 73.50 eH Link to comment
Clown79
I have never had any of my salt mix at what any of them state on their packaging. Reef Crystals my results were always 400ca, 7 alk, 1140 mag(they claim mag 1320)-never once did my mag even get past 1200. Coral Pro 400ca, 9alk, mag 1200(package 450ca, 11alk, 1390mag) I mix my salt 1.026 Did you give the container a good shake before adding the salt. sometimes that helps. What is your ca and mag at?
