PaulMrks
This is another Duncan not that other one. It hasn't opened in about a week. I noticed the side has these swiggly marks I don't know what's going on. Here's some photos. Link to comment
PaulMrks
I did spot feed Maybe the hermits or shrimp dig into the tissue to remove the food? Link to comment
markalot
Keep it in the water, they don't like to be removed. Duncans grow on the lower part of the reef that is never exposed to air. Remember that these corals are not adapted / have not evolved to be moved around like we move them around so the less disturbance the better. Keep it in the tank, moderate flow and light, and give ti a week. Monitor the stuff on the side, which is probably some kind of algae or maybe a sponge, but don't do anything except observe for now. ReefSafeSolutions
How new is this one to your tank? If this one is new and the other one you had trouble with was new, I'm wondering if your water parameters are fairly different from the tanks where these came from. Your other corals would still be open because they've acclimated to the difference in parameters. As mentioned in your other thread, check the Alk...my last tank had quite a few LPS in it and they all got nuked due to Alk issues. Link to comment
Dylan.N
Those look like snail eggs. Link to comment
dpoltsdsu
Could those be eggs? They look like snail eggs to me as well. Like the others said, I would wait it out and not disturb it.Mine took about a little bit longer than a week when I first got it and look at it now.. It started at 3 heads. Lower flow, lower light, and it should do great in my opinion. Link to comment
PaulMrks
One head was covered in brown jelly today To my horror. I threw the whole coral out as I have ALOT of euphs. Now I'm worried that it spread. Link to comment
