zacharin0
So I bought a firefish, acclimated it, and netted it into my tank. I watched him swim around for a little bit, low to the sandbed, then he disappeared a minutes later. His disappearance went on for two days and at no time of the day I saw him swimming around. I started looking inside the live rock today to see if he was inside one of the pores, and there he was just resting inside. He hasn't eaten for 2 days, and I really want him to be swimming around occasionally. I know firefish are shy, but to be gone for two days inside his little hole seems a little too much. If this is remotely what firefish do when introduced into the tank, and is there any way to promote him out into the open? I'm a bit worried. I have a pair of clowns, a couple corals, and 2 snails in a thirty gallon; nothing really that should distress the firefish. Link to comment
zacharin0
Clowns have only been in for a month so tank is still somewhat new to them. Link to comment
PaulMrks
Mine took like 10 days to hang out with the clowns. Actually recently these past few days he's out and about. I guess they just need to see nobody picks on them. Link to comment
steste1122
Seems pretty normal. My Helfrichi swims into/under the rocks when the lights are off. After they are on for a bit he comes out though. I must have gotten a good one, it spends most of its time up front showing off for me. Link to comment
